You Its Eyes was imagining itself into the fantasies, sensory perceptions and temporality of Romero’s character Martyn. The exhibition was titled after Romero’s 1967 film of that name, in which a young man is trapped on a train transforming into a vampire, not understanding what is happening to him, out of control. We employed the bleeding textures, flickers and distortions of degraded analogue video to convey a fragmenting identity and impossible speed experiences.
